Become a Member of the Dexter Area Chamber of Commerce

"The Dexter Area Chamber of Commerce is organized to advance the general welfare of the Dexter area so that all of its citizens and community shall prosper."


Nestled along the banks of the Huron River and Mill Creek, the City of Dexter is a friendly town of approximately 5,000 residents. We are located just minutes from the City of Ann Arbor, home of the premier University of Michigan. In addition to the community parks located within the City, there are several Huron-Clinton Metroparks within easy driving distance.

Small but Mighty The city of Dexter is less that two square miles and has a population of 4500. Between 2000-2010, it was the fastest growing community is Michigan. Nestled along the banks of the Huron River and Mill Creek, Dexter is a friendly town located 10 miles northwest of Ann Arbor in southeast Michigan. Although the city is small, the Dexter School District serves not only the city but surrounding communities covering nearly 90 square miles. Dexter’s first school was built in 1830 on B Street. There are now six campuses in Dexter: Anchor and Beacon (K-2), and Wylie (3-4) elementary schools, Creekside Intermediate (5-6), Mill,Creek Middle school (7-8) and Dexter High School (9-12), home of the Dreadnaughts.
