Upcoming Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies:
Dexter Residents Can Win Free Drinks for a Year as Local Owners Open First Ziggi’s Coffee Feb. 17
Local owners Garnette and Miranda Roberts open Dexter’s first drive-thru coffee shop with daily deals, community fundraiser, and ribbon cutting
DEXTER, Mich. (Feb. 10, 2026) — A new, locally owned Ziggi’s Coffee is opening in Dexter on Tuesday, Feb. 17, bringing the city its first drive-thru quick-service coffee shop. Owned and operated by Garnette and Miranda Roberts, the new location will mark its opening with a full week of community-focused celebrations, including a chance for one guest to win free Ziggi’s for a year and a fundraiser benefiting the Educational Foundation of Dexter.
Longtime Washtenaw County residents, Garnette and Miranda Roberts, said Dexter felt like the right place to open their first Ziggi’s because of its strong sense of community, historic downtown and family-oriented atmosphere.
“Dexter reminded us of the small towns we both grew up in, where local businesses are truly part of everyday life,” Garnette Roberts said. “We wanted to open something that adds convenience while still feeling personal and connected to the community.”
Located at 7097 Dexter-Ann Arbor Road, the new Ziggi’s Coffee offers both a café and drive-thru, giving residents, commuters and families a new go-to spot for specialty coffee, signature drinks and food throughout the day.
Local Owners Focused on Community Connection
Garnette and Miranda Roberts bring a combined 40-plus years of experience working in higher education, a background they say shaped their people-first approach to leadership. Garnette will serve as an owner-operator, taking an active, day-to-day role in the store alongside their family.
As part of the opening week celebration, the Roberts family will host a community fundraiser on Wednesday, Feb. 18, benefiting the Educational Foundation of Dexter. A portion of proceeds from the day’s sales will be donated to the organization, which supports educational programs, classroom resources and enrichment opportunities for students and educators throughout the Dexter community. A ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Dexter Chamber of Commerce is also scheduled for 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 18, during the fundraiser day.
“Education has always been important to our family, and supporting local schools felt like the right way to begin our journey in Dexter,” Miranda Roberts said. “We wanted our opening week to reflect our commitment to the community and the families who make this town special.”
The Roberts family plans to get involved with local schools, athletics and community events as they build long-term roots in Dexter.
